Women's Health Services
Contraception
Advice and care is offered on all aspects of continuing and emergency contraception.
Cervical Smears
We recommend that all female patients keep up to date with this important test to prevent the
development of cervical cancer. We are happy to advise you regarding what this test involves.
The practice is registered with the Cervical Check Programme, and will provide a smear test free of charge to eligible women (aged between 25 - 60 years on production of a valid PPS number).
To avail of this free service book an appointment with the practice nurse. Your PPS number needs to be given to reception when booking this appointment.

Preconception And Pregnancy Counselling
Pregnancy Tests
Antenatal/Postnatal Care
Women on the combined care scheme with the maternity hospitals are entitled to six antenatal visits and a
six-week postnatal check-up at the surgery free of charge. Their baby is entitled to a two-week and a
six-week check-up. This scheme is only available to women who live within the Contactors Bureau area of
service. Further details of this scheme are available at the surgery.
